Cookie-free audience measurement

Starting 26 July 2026, Woodshop Numbers uses a limited first-party analytics service operated at x-app.eu. On each page view, the browser sends the site hostname, requested path and, when the browser supplies it, the referring hostname and path without query parameters. The site does not set analytics cookies and does not load Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels or social-media trackers.

The measurement is used to understand which guides are useful, compare site and page traffic over time and maintain the network. It is not used for behavioral advertising or to build a reader profile.

Sessions and anonymous daily counts

A random session identifier is kept in sessionStorage and remains valid for 30 minutes of inactivity. It is replaced after that interval and is removed when the browser tab session ends. The analytics endpoint receives ordinary network request data. It processes the IP address transiently with a rotating daily salt to create a one-way daily anonymized visitor hash; the raw IP address is not stored. The user agent is reduced to a device category, and the hosting edge may add a country code for aggregated reporting. The daily hash is not designed to recognize a reader across days.

What appears in reports

Reports contain aggregated counts by date, site hostname, page path, referrer, device category and country. The random session identifier supports session totals; it is not connected to a name, account, email address or advertising identifier. Woodshop Numbers does not provide accounts, comments, uploads, checkout or contact forms.

Calculators run locally in your browser. Calculator inputs are not sent to the analytics service or stored on a server, and reloading the page resets them to the published defaults.

Hosting and security logs

The hosting and network providers may separately process ordinary request information such as IP address, requested URL, user agent, timestamp and security signals to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose faults. Their handling is governed by their own terms and legal obligations.

External links

Some guides link to manufacturers, standards bodies and government sources. Following an external link sends your request to that provider, which may apply its own cookies, analytics and privacy policy. An external link does not mean Woodshop Numbers receives your activity there.

Changes

This notice was last updated on 26 July 2026, when cookie-free first-party analytics collection began. It will be updated before any material change to accounts, forms, advertising or data collection is enabled.
